Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies
Warm walnut chocolate chip cookies to comfort your tummy on this snowy day! It's the 2nd day of Spring and there's snow. Stuck in a snow day is not necessarily a bad thing, it's a perfect opportunity to make these delicious treats to enjoy with some milk or hot cocoa after shoveling or sledding, whichever you choose!
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups of flour
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of sugar
2 sticks of butter, softened
1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of walnuts
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Directions:
This is a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe with a twist. Add your favorite nuts or additional chocolate or fruit variation. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Combine the butter, eggs and sugars in one bowl and mix until well combined. Add the flour, vanilla extract, baking soda to the mixing bowl and stir. Add additional water, 2-3 Tbsp, to soften the dough until it becomes a batter. The batter should be thin so that you can easily scoop our portions using a spoon or ice cream scoop. Finally, using a wooden spoon, fold in the chocolate chips and any other nuts or fruit variations. Place the scooped batter onto nonstick baking pans lined with parchment paper (easy cleanup!). The recipe makes about 2 dozen medium sized cookies. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the bottom of the cookies are light brown and the tops of the cookies are light brown in color. Remove the baked cookies from the cookie sheets and place onto a flat service so that the cookies can cool off the pan. Enjoy with some milk!
